Common problems and countermeasures of stainless steel spinning products

Whether the blank can be spin-formed depends on the type of material, the size of the cutter wheel, the path of the cutter wheel, the R fillet of the cutter wheel, and the gap between the cutter wheel and the mold. If there is a problem in the spinning process of the product, usually are all related to these factors. The precision of spinning products is related to the precision of the mold, the beating degree of the cutter wheel, and the strong spinning clearance. The surface of the spinning product is related to the feed speed of the tool holder, the spindle speed, and the strong spinning clearance.
1) The thickness of the blank is less than 1mm, and the blank is easy to wrinkle and crack during the spinning process.
Solution: Choose a cutter wheel with a small R value for spinning, so that it is easy to form a spinning ring during the cutting process, which can increase the strength of the outer ring of the material, and reduce the probability of wrinkling. If the product breaks, it means The density of the toolpath can be adjusted to overcome the cracking caused by the material having reached the fatigue strength.
2) The rounded corners are wrinkled or not smooth enough.
Solution: The position of the crimping cutter wheel during the crimping process and the spinning product is not correct, and it needs to be adjusted to the correct position.
3) Non-standard furniture spinning parts have large burrs after cutting with turning tools.
Solution: The stainless steel material is hard, and the knife grains wear out quickly. Use a hob cutter instead, and the cutting burrs will be reduced a lot.
4) The surface of the stainless steel spinning process is easy to scratch.
Solution: Due to the high hardness of stainless steel, the spinning knife wheel made of CR12 is easy to scratch. When the surface of the product is scratched, use sandpaper to polish the knife wheel and continue spinning , or use CR12 cutter wheel for surface coating to have higher hardness.
5) The root of the trumpet-shaped product is easy to break
Solution: Because the ratio of the diameter of the blank to the small diameter of the spinning mold is large, the root of the blank is subjected to a large tensile force every time the tool path is passed, and it is easy to become thinner and fatigue and crack. It is necessary to adjust and improve the spinning tool path and clearance.
